What to check before buying HTML5 game source

Evaluate a playable demo, editable source files, licence scope, tools, localisation and support before choosing a game.

A good demo tells you how a game feels. The source listing tells you what you can change, what tools you need and what your licence permits. Check both before choosing a project.

Start with the actual game

Play in portrait and landscape on the devices you plan to support. Try touch and keyboard controls, audio switches, later levels and saved progress. Check screenshots against the demo. A desktop preview alone cannot establish mobile compatibility.

Check the editable project

Look for the engine and version, source language, editable formats, dependency lockfile and build instructions. TypeScript or JavaScript files and a Construct project are different editing workflows. A minified web build is useful for publishing, but it is not a substitute for an editable project.

Match the version

Check the source package version separately from the demo version. On Vembon, verified technical details are attached to the selected source ZIP. If a different package is selected, those claims need another review.

Review the licence and assets

Read the actual licence for permitted projects, exclusivity, distribution restrictions, third-party components, asset disclosures, support and update entitlements. An exclusive licence does not turn open-source libraries into exclusive property. Have your legal adviser review the terms and assets for your intended use.

Plan the handover

New Vembon purchase downloads are available for 14 days after payment confirmation. Download the full ZIP and keep a backup before the deadline. Download access and the rights granted by your licence are separate matters; the licence governs your continued use.
